Sometimes I paint, sometimes I don't. Maybe you'll find something you like, maybe you won't. The world is your oyster and I just make the art, so peek through the curtains and let our journey start! 

My name is Karina, and I am a London based, Latvian born, fine arts student. As you could tell, I'm sure, from that little poem in the beginning, I have spent the past 5 and a half years, solely focusing on improving my abilities as a painter, as no other mediums have caught my attention quite like painting.  I've went from acrylic paints to oil and while I am still learning every day, my stories on canvas do speak for themselves at times. I hope through my work people will simply remember a milestone or happy time in their life, while others may see literal fairytales they can daydream about. As long as the art has made you feel something, my goal here has been achieved.

As a child, I grew up around fairytales and fantasy scenes in story books, which has carried through into my teen and adult life. The paintings I make are filled with dark little twists, in a fun, colourful and sometimes magical setting to keep the tone to that of a Grimm Brothers tale. The macabre and the fairytale worlds often meet to create my paintings, so if all this sounds like what you, or somebody else on your gift list, would enjoy, take a peek!
